How to use the PDF Tools
Add your PDF files
Drop in one document to split or reorder, or several to merge. Files are read locally by your browser.
Arrange or select pages
Reorder documents before merging, or choose the page range to extract when splitting.
Download the finished PDF
The new document is assembled in your browser and saved straight to your device.
Why not upload a PDF to a free converter
PDFs are the format we use for exactly the documents that should not be handed to strangers: contracts, invoices, identity documents, medical records, financial statements, signed agreements. The typical free PDF site uploads all of it to a server you know nothing about.
Even with an honest operator, the document sits on third-party infrastructure, passes through their logs, and is subject to whatever happens to that company later. For anything covered by GDPR, HIPAA or an ordinary confidentiality clause, that upload is the compliance problem - not the merge.
Here the PDF is parsed and rebuilt by JavaScript running in your own browser. No upload, no queue, no retention policy to read.
Merging, splitting and reordering
Merging joins several documents into one in the order you set - the fix for a scanner that produced a separate file per page, or an expense claim assembled from a dozen receipts.
Splitting extracts a page range into its own file, which is how you send one relevant section of a hundred-page report without sending the rest. Reordering and deleting pages handle the rest of the everyday cases: a page scanned upside down, a duplicate, an internal appendix that should not go to the client.
What removing a page does not do
Deleting a page removes it from the document. It does not redact anything on the pages that remain - text hidden behind a black rectangle is still text, and can be selected, copied or extracted by anyone who opens the file.
Genuine redaction means removing the underlying content, not covering it. If a document must have information removed rather than merely hidden, use a tool built for redaction and verify the result by searching the output for the text that was supposed to be gone.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
- No. Merging, splitting and reordering all happen in your browser. The document never leaves your device, which is what makes this appropriate for contracts and personal records.
- Is there a file size or page limit?
- No server-imposed limit, since nothing is uploaded. Very large documents are constrained only by your browser available memory.
- Can I merge PDFs in a specific order?
- Yes. Arrange the documents before merging and the pages are combined in exactly that sequence.
- Does this work with password-protected PDFs?
- Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked before they can be edited. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then process the unlocked copy.
- Can I redact information with this?
- No. Deleting a page removes that page, but drawing over text does not remove it. Use a dedicated redaction tool when content must genuinely be destroyed rather than hidden.
